It’s 4:00PM on a sunny Friday afternoon and I’m stuck inside sitting in one of my million classes that I am taking in chiropractic school. As the Doctor is lecturing on and on and on all I can do is daydream of the day that I get to open my practice. I’m going to find an awesome location with low rent and hang a sweet sign out front and within days my practice will be flooded with patients.
This is the dream that many students, much like myself, get trapped into and the reason there is over an 80% attrition rate of new chiropractic offices across the country. Luckily I had a great mentor that constantly stressed that statistic to me so I snapped out of the “Chiro dream” and back to reality. One day I saw a flyer on the wall for a company called HealthSource and a guy named Dr. Bart was going to be at my school doing a presentation on the company. I attended that presentation and the rest was history.
After going through a rigorous interview process I was selected to attend the Launch U program led by Dr. Bart and Dr. Damon. Within the first few hours I quickly realized just how little chiropractic school prepares you for real world practice. The entire business side of things was completely missing from my chiropractic education. This is where I realized I had made a wonderful decision to join HealthSource and attend the Launch U program. This program was so well put together by Dr. Damon and Dr. Bart that after just two short weeks of training I had learned the business end of running a practice, how to market, and even things such as how to work the flow of patients in my office when I became busy. All things that chiropractic school fails to prepare you for. After completing Launch U I was ready and confident to open a practice.
Fresh out of school and five months into practice now my office is growing steadily and I look back and know that there is no way that I could have done any of this without the help of Dr. Damon and Dr. Bart and the Launch U program. I would strongly recommend that any new docs and students looking to be successful and survive that awful attrition rate, look into HealthSource Chiropractic and Progressive Rehab and the Launch U program. A few wise men told me “Of the two pains, discipline and regret, if you give in to the pain of discipline you will not incur the much more severe pain of regret.” I implore you to give into the pain of discipline and learn things the right way through the Launch U program and I promise you will not have to suffer in the regret of not joining HealthSource Chiropractic and Progressive Rehab.
